Losing Yourself in Relationship

You can’t have a happy and healthy relationship with another person unless you have one with yourself first. That’s just the plain truth.

If you dismiss this idea without taking an honest look at yourself first, it will usually turn out that one or both people will find themselves in therapy at some point down the line-feeling overly dependent and needy of the other person to fill an unknown void in their life. Quite frankly, this voice, wherever it came from, is not true, never has been true about you and is no indication of who you are at your core. Don’t believe it. It’s asking for a challenge, so rise up and prove it wrong!

Fear and Anxiety

Fear and anxiety show up in our lives without our formal invitation. When they do, shame and blame can be companions lurking nearby. As a result, the quality of our lives and relationships suffer.

As children, we don’t always learn how truly capable we are in solving problems or handling uncertainty, especially if we aren’t given the chance to [Read more…]
